Axinite

Axinite is a rare and attractive mineral, typically forming in sharp, wedge-shaped crystals that range in color from brown to violet-brown, honey-yellow, and occasionally blue or green. This borosilicate mineral group, which includes several varieties based on the dominant metal content, such as ferro-axinite (iron), magnesio-axinite (magnesium), and manganaxinite (manganese), has a unique crystal habit with flattened, knife-like edges and a characteristic glassy luster. Axinite’s colors often show pleochroism, meaning they appear to change depending on the angle of light, enhancing its visual appeal.
