Fossil Aglaspids

Aglaspids are an extinct group of ancient arthropods that thrived from the Cambrian to the Ordovician periods, roughly 500 to 480 million years ago. These unusual creatures had a body shape that looked like a cross between early trilobites and modern horseshoe crabs, featuring a distinct, broad head shield, a segmented midsection, and a tapering tail spine.
