Eucrites are achondritic stony meteorites that originate from the surface of minor-planet 4 Vesta. Vesta is one of the largest objects in our solar system’s asteroid belt, measuring 326 miles wide. Like Earth it has a crust, mantle, and core. Eucrites consist of basaltic rock from the crust of Vesta that were ejected during collisions with another asteroids.
