Chocolate Calcite

Hailing from the rugged landscapes of Balochistan in Pakistan, chocolate calcite is a geological treasure born of earth’s artistic forces. Over millions of years, calcium carbonate-rich solutions seeped through limestone caves and ancient seabeds, depositing calcite in rhythmic layers. The presence of iron oxide and other minerals during this process imparted the stone’s distinctive chocolate-brown hue, while purer calcite layers remained pearly white or honeyed beige. The result is the banded chocolate-and-cream marvel we see today.
